Out of Control Tour '84
updated 14 July 2008 - added ticket
updated 2 Sept 2016 with better audio information
Decent, echoey - Sound 3 - 1hr 22min - 1st gen - 25 tracks
This is England
Sound quality
Another reasonably nice recording from 1st gen source. The sound is very wide and pretty clear and therefore enjoyable. However ther are some echo problems from the taper being at the back of the very old Victorian Hall.
A great venue, so loud, but this has damaged the structures. The taper at the back has managed to pick up plenty of echo.
The drums, guitar and bass come accross clear. The vocals come out a touch low but not much. High decibels produce some over amplificationon the recorder, but again not that much.

Here’s an official Clash Mk2 Crew Pass for what I believe is from the King George’s Hall in Blackburn on the 4th of March 1984
King Georges Hall, Blackburn
King George's Hall, located in Blackburn, England, is a historic music venue with a rich legacy. The hall, a Grade 2 listed building, has been a prominent site for various concerts and performances since its opening in 1921.
The hall consists of three main areas: the Concert Hall with a capacity of 1800, the Windsor Suite with a capacity of 750, and Blakeys Café Bar with a capacity of 500. Over the years, the venue has hosted a wide range of world-famous acts, including The Beatles, David Bowie, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, The Jam, The Clash, and many others including David Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust tour in 1973.

"two sorts of people come to watch the Clash"
Joe gets carried away later on by the heavy and constant rain of saliva raining down on him which was awful in the extreme. Politely, following Radio Clash, he suggests two sorts of people come to watch the Clash.
"these lot here, too young to remember first time, think they can be part of it by spitting on the bloke, then there you lot at the back who come for some information"
"it has never been so geographically clear to me that we have two kinds of audience"
Quite an energetic gig with some more of the old numbers getting bashed about a bit.
Support, 'sid presley experience' ?
Was at the Clash ‘84 Blackburn Out of Control gig, cant for the life of me remember who supported them but have the thought it was the sid presley experience?? Shed any light on this?
Couple of memories from that gig do remember the support band guitarist/bass players pants falling down. Also all the gobbing and a couple of punks dropping off the balcony into the crowd below.
Found a good link to the tour t-shirts from that night....link
Let me know if you do know who the support was. Cheers -Mart
I was there. Incredible atmosphere. Packed
I was there. Incredible atmosphere. Packed. The spitting was off the scale. Constant flow of gob. The band got pissed off with it but all the same ploughed on at 100 miles per hour. On the tape you can here Joe stop for gobbing.
