  • The gig was explosive

Neil: Although still at school, myself and two friends managed to get our pocket money together to see this gig , our first live experience of the Clash . Hard to describe the excitement and nerves I had !

The Slits, much to our disappointment never played, so it was left to a non descript Innocents to provide the build up. As we were smaller compared to most in a packed standing room only hall , we couldn't push through to the front area so had to settle for mid way back where when the Clash performed we could only see them from the waist up with their assortment of multi coloured shirts .

The gig was explosive and still stays with me to this day.

The only disappointment was not be able to afford a T shirt , poster or badge from the souvenir stall to take home . Made up for it though when I finally had a job and some disposable income !

Ears were still ringing at school the next day .....
Incredible night I am proud I managed to see and experience .....

    Great website !
    Cheers, Neil. neil templar <neil.templar-hotmail.com>

Barry Wilbourn - Saw them on this tour at the Bath Pavillion.

Dave Targett - I was at the Bath gig 78
