Drammen 84

The new Clash sounds great. Joe Strummer did the right thing when he kicked Mick Jones out of the band. The new Clash are better than ever, they are heavier, has more speed and more passion. The european tour started of to a crowd of 5000 chair throwing Norwiegans(!) but the wildest of them all was Joe Strummer who at the last song throw himself from an amplifier with blood and a bump on the head as a result. Then the reviewer goes on with more info that the new Clash are better than ever with the new guys in the band. Only Paul Simonons harmonica version of Guns of Brixton getÌs the thumbs down. The new songs are difficult to judge after just one listen but the reviewer thinks the new songs are going back to old fashion rock ÌnÌ roll. Joe gets the last word in the review

The Clash getsÌs better with each gig, we just has to give it all on stage. Stockholm 84 Same revier as STO 81 show startÌs of with some words from Joe about the new Clash Ò We will be as punkier as ever. And the Clash keeps their promise, last night the Clash played with so much heat, energy and passion that it was ages a show like this was played in an arena this big. The reviewer expectations of the gig was not high as the last time Clash played Stockholm (1981) they were careless, played long raggae improvisations and had a really bad sound.

The new guys gets the credit for the vitamin injection the new Clash has. Not many bands can get an audience this big feel like they are on a more intimate venue but The Clash showed that they can along with Springsteen, Bowie and the heavy metal bands. The new songs gets thumbs up but not everything was perfect at the show, the sound was bad from time to time but overall The Clash showed that they have the energy and feeling for a rock ÌnÌ roll show when itÌs at the best! Here's a photosession Schlager did when the Clash played Stockholm Feb 1984 Photos of security, roadies, managers, fans etc but not the record label as the Clash told to them to f*** off!
