Audio recording 1 There are three known sources for this one. Two clear one's and one with some bass distortion. Of the clear ones, one is an 18 track one (96mins worth) with 4 tracks edited in from the lesser one towards the end of the set. This edits at toward the very end of Tony Adams. The second clear one, which is full and fractionally better possibly(?) and has a complete Tony Adams before ending disc 1. Someone bellows out during Blitzkreig Bop though and the first clear one has a better version here. The lesser source splits elsewherebut is bass distorted. Things had to improve on the previous nights performance in Dublin and they did. The best performance of the tour as everyone looked refreshed. A old municipal building right behind the tall Colston Tower (and Yates Wine Lodge!) in the town centre. The only venue where tickets were not checked until entering the auditorium itself. With is palatial carpets, wide stone stairs decked in posh green piled carpets and ornate pillars with ceiling decoration, its a nice venue, all very posh for a Joe gig. The bar exceptionally spacious with no seating and decent ale. The reasonable sized bass boomy hall, no less luxurious with the back half of the hall allowing for a rise of plush seats, directly above a decadent balcony area with carved ceiling. Must have been done up since the Clash last played here. Tight and talkative in front of an older, more Global a Go Go consious audience, the band blazed through perfect renditions of the all tracks. No beer throwing amongst the palatial audience here, though there were a good 30 or 40 moshers down the front 2 or 3 deep. As with all venues on this tour, joe accomodates some lyrics to local geographical places, particularly Message to you Rudie. Londons Burning was halted halfway through as Joe asks of over zealous security "is there no moshin allowed in this place or what?" ; f/b Londons Burning take 2 and the very exciting Blitzkreig Bop. Did you go? What do you remember? |
