Audio recording 1 Several sources exist for this much recorded gig: Two very good recordings, both from master, though the venue adds a touch of echo. Most of the UK venues on this tour dont have the best acoustics. The first splits after Johnny Appleseed, teh second after Tony Adams. The latter has a touch of bass distortion that makes it marginally less, though only marginally. Curiously both were recorded from the same poition in the venue unknowingly. Video recording - Audience shot A half full but excellent venue formerly known as the Hummingbird just off the Aston Way under the over pass. The band strolled through an easy set with out much a do save the heckler right in front of Joe who would not stop shouting Clash songs. Joe got pissed off and ended up having a verbal from the stage and a laugh with the audience. In amongst this guy was some a film camera with some dubious bloke attached taking shots of the crowd from within. Luckily the moshin was down to a dozen or more at max. The three-quarter circular upstairs balcony, near enough to spit on the band from, remained empty cept for a the odd line leaning on the railings. Surprising as it offer s great view as does all parts of the ex-disco with the stickiest carpets (where they carpets??) ever. Loads of bar space though. The back of the crowd was no more than 75 feet away, though spaces where aplenty with about 800 of the possible 1500? taken. A stange venue where the water was not offered to those moshers on the front row. Still no matter as strangely the beer was actually thrown backwards tonight! And the hecker still carried on, Joe releasing the water top bottle with angered velocity at his head with a side flick. Despite it, the band good but a little jaded. joes speech muted to a run trough of the tracks. Did you go? What do you remember? |
